Little Linkoln

Tuesday, April 27, we welcomed Linkoln Paul Simonson to our family. He was 6 lbs 5 oz and 19 1/2 inches long. We are excited to have him here finally. Here are a few pictures of our new addition.

Our Little Trip

So, Clint and I didn't have to work a few days this week and Clint decided we needed to have a little family trip before the baby was born. He put it all together and away we went. We went to Salt Lake and stayed one night. Here are some pics of what we did on our little get away.

We took Corgin to "The Mayan". He loved watching the people dive into the water and do all sorts of tricks. The diver is kinda hard to see in the picture, but is by the lantern that is really bright.

Corgin also liked the food there.

After we ate, we did a little shopping and then went back to the hotel to swim. I think that was Corgin's favorite part of our little trip. He loves being in the water, and he was pretty good at swimming (dog paddeling anyway) and keeping his head up, even without the tube.
This is just a cute picture I got of Corgin after we were done swimming and were getting ready for bed. We found a towel that was just his size.
Yesterday, we took Corgin to Temple Square. He loved seeing Angel Moroni on top of the SLC Temple. He also loved playing in the reflection pond. Here are some pics of my little man.

The flowers were all in bloom and there were beautiful blossoms on the trees. The weather was perfect. Awesome day at Temple Square!

We had an enjoyable little trip and look forward to many more to come.

Easter Celebrations!

I know this is a week late, but I had left my camera at my mom's so I couldn't post any pics. Anyway, we had a nice Easter. We enjoyed listening to conference and spending time with family. Corgin loved looking for Easter eggs and his Easter basket.

When Corgin got up, he was eager to see what the Easter bunny had brought him. He started by finding some eggs filled with goodies!

Then, he had to find his basket as well. He liked going through it and seeing all the fun stuff he got.

This is a felt "spuddy buddy" I made for him. The features velcro on and it was nice to have at church today to keep him busy for a few minutes. He was happy to get it.
We had a nice Easter and now we are just waiting to have this baby (okay, so I'm mostly the one waiting, and probably not very patiently either). And still to come: Corgin's bunk bed that Clint built him and some of Clint's other bathroom projects, also the quilt I'm attempting to make for Corgin's new bed. We're always staying busy.

As for a little update, Clint has been back working for the RR for the last few weeks, so we are hopeful it will stay steady. Also, we haven't heard from our renters if they want to buy our house, so we are hoping that when the lease is up in the end of May that we will be moving back into our house. Yay!

Is it Spring Yet?

Corgin has anxiously been awaiting Spring so he can finally go outside and play. Here are a few pics of what he has been up to lately.

He also spent some time playing with his cousin Ava in the tent his grandpa made him. They have lots of fun together.

One day it was warm enough to spend some time playing outside. He got to jump on the trampoline, eat his lunch outside, and go for a few rides - one on the fourwheeler and one on grandpa's motorbike. He was the happiest kid alive!

We also took Corgin's trike outside and let him ride it. He does much better pedaling on the pavement than the carpet. Here is a little video.

Now if the weather would just quit tricking us we would be happy. Enough with the snow already! We hope Spring comes soon.

Our Latest Projects

So, in one of my earlier blogs I mentioned some projects that Clint and I have been working on. I finally took some pictures so that I could post them. One of the projects that Clint has been working on is remodeling two of my mom's bathrooms. He has finished one and is starting on the next. Here are some pics of the finished bathroom.

Clint did all the work. Everything you see, he did. He and his dad made the concrete countertop and the top around the tub. Clint also took my mom's old cupboards and transformed them into the ones in there now (I didn't get a picture of before, but if any of you saw those cupboards you'd realize that Clint put a lot of work into making them the way they are now). He also did all the trim work, including around the mirror. I thought he did a great job.

Now Clint gets to do the other bathroom. He has also been building Corgin some bunk beds, so when he gets done with those I will post more pics. Have I mentioned that I love having a handy man around.

Now onto my project. I got a sewing machine for Christmas and was excited to try it out, so I took on the project of making me a church/diaper bag with a matching changing pad. I had fun and learned a lot about sewing. Here is my finished bag and changing pad.

I too am working on another project as well. I am making my blog into a book. It is something I've wanted to do for a little while, but kept putting it off. I think I will try to do it about every two years now and I'm about halfway done with the first book. Fun stuff.

Now don't think that working on these projects is all we do. We still find time to have some fun and go do other things. Clint went steelhead fishing earlier this week. He went with my dad and one of his friends. Clint was the only one who brought home a fish. Corgin was excited to see his fish too. Here is the happy fisherman.

And if any of you were wondering, Corgin is doing well and his arm is almost better. Here are some pictures of him last night. His arm is still a little red, but I don't even think it will leave a scar. We are so blessed!

While on the subject of this little guy, I have just a few stories of him.

The other night I put him to bed and went into the other room. I sneezed and then I heard this sweet little voice, "Bless you, Mommy." I had to smile.

Also, I love it when I come home from work and he is always so excited. He yells, "Mommy's home, Mommy's home!"

He also tells the funniest things that we don't know where he gets them. He told us the other day that he is a "little person" when we asked him if he was a big boy. Clint was trying to get him in his carseat the other day and told him that if he didn't get in his carseat he would have to walk home. Corgin replied with "walk home, please" (he also sometimes says "spankin, please" he is very polite) so Clint asked him if he even knew where to go and Corgin said, "Inkom" (where we are living currently). Some days he just surprises us.

My favorite moment this week, though would have to be when I came home from work and was sharing a bowl of ice cream with him. He looked at me and then gave me the biggest kiss and hug. I love it when I don't have to ask for them. I sure love this boy!

Winter Vacation Adventures!

We just got back from a little vacation to Driggs. We try to go each year with my family and take some time to go skiing at Targhee (well, some of us ski). Anyway, we couldn't just start out our vacation without some kind of excitement, so we began with a trip to the Driggs ER. Corgin pulled a bowl of hot, almost boiling, water down on him and burned his arm. We hurried and stripped off his jammies and put him in cold water. He didn't like that much, so we ended up wrapping his arm in snow. We filled his sippy cup with pop and tried to cool his arm as much as we could.

He wasn't sure of the ice pack at first.

We took the snow off and saw this huge blister forming, so we decided it was time to take him where he could get some better help. The ER in Driggs was the fastest we've ever been taken care of and they did a good job.

They wrapped his arm and sent us home with medicine for the pain and an antibiotic cream for the blister if it broke (which the dr. was sure it would with a wild little two year old). Here is Corgin showing us his big "bandaid" the next morning.

He begged to have nakey time, so we let him play for a little while. Besides the bandage on his arm, we wouldn't have known he was hurt. He was a happy little boy.

We even found time to go play in the snow. Corgin kept begging to go shovel snow. However, the shovel was soon abandoned and funner things were found.

When Corgin came in, he begged to go play some more. Of course, grandma and grandpa had to give in to this cute little boy who almost always says please.

So, he got some rides on the fourwheeler.

Grandma, Jake, and grandpa all took him on rides. He absolutely loved it.

He came in and wanted more rides, but I had to be the bad guy and tell him no more. His little cheeks and nose were starting to get really cold and probably a little wind burned. He was having a lot of fun though, and the cold didn't bother him.

The dr. told us that his burn would look the worst within 24 hours and then start to look better. This is how it looked the next day when we changed his bandage. It looked pretty bad. Today it is looking much better. We are happy about that.

We had a fun and exciting little get away. Thanks to my parents for setting it up and for our family that let us use their cabin. We appriciate it and can't wait until next year.

Simonson Update

Here are some pictures of what Corgin has been doing lately. Clint and I have had a few projects, however I don't have pics of those yet, so instead this post is all about my little man.

We went to Wingers and shared an Asphault Pie. Corgin loved the whipped topping. He dug right in and kept saying, "mmmm, nummy, nummy."

The other night Corgin found a pillow and decided to crawl inside.

He wrestled and rolled around for quite a while - longer then he plays with most things. He had us laughing so hard.

Corgin's grandpa Dewey took him for a ride in the loader.

Corgin thought it was one of the best things ever!

This is what we found one afternoon when Corgin was supposed to be taking a nap at grandma Merri's house. He had crawled under all the padding that my mom had put in the crib.

He found granpa Dewey's cowboy boots.

My brother and his wife had thier baby, Tytan. Since baby Tytan has been born, Corgin begs to be "swaddled like Baby Tytan". Here is grandma Merri holding both her grandbabies.
